Some Facts and Figures about the Convention Hall Main Organ

A message from the President of the Atlantic City Convention Hall Organ Society (ACCHOS):

Welcome to the ACCHOS website; an area devoted to the two magnificent pipe organs housed in the Convention Hall on Atlantic City's world-famous Boardwalk. In the building's 41,000-seat main aditorium is the world's largest pipe organ and in the ballroom is one of the largest theatre organs ever built. The instruments are famous for their quality of tone, as well as the quantity of their stops, and are well deserving of a special organisation dedicated to them.

ACCHOS was formed in 1997 and exists to:

Create a greater awareness of and interest in the Convention Hall's organs, especially in terms of their future potential.
Promote both instruments through newsletters, magazine articles, and recordings; both audio and video.
Arrange periodic organ recitals, and organize an annual meeting of ACCHOS members.
Encourage ongoing maintenance of the instruments, and seek funding for restoration at local, state, federal, and international levels.

"The material on this site is designed to serve as an introduction to the instruments, and we hope you will find it interesting. A comprehensive study and history of the organs is being researched/written, and currently runs to more than 300 pages with some 100 pictures. It is hoped that publication will take place during 1998."
