We need your e-mail address. Here's why:

The Society has discontinued publishing the Grand Ophicleide magazine in printed format. Instead, it will be sent as an e-mail containing links to a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. By clicking on a link in the e-mail, you can view the magazine on-line and/or download it to your computer for off-line reading.

This change was desirable for a host of reasons, including: cutting costs (e.g. printing, mailing), obviating delivery delays and missing mail, reducing our carbon footprint, being kinder to the environment (by becoming a paperless organization), providing more-timely information to members, meeting the expectations of the so-called digital generation, and simply moving with the times. Also, because PDFs are viewed on a computer, the reader can enlarge text and magnify pictures. Of course, it's also possible to run-off a paper copy from your own printer.

The new format will be produced six times-a-year, i.e. once every two months, instead of the present four. Electronic transmission will also allow us to send extra messages with news, e.g. if, between issues, a date is set for the re-opening of the Ballroom's Kimball organ.

Although we already have the e-mail addresses of many members, it is important that we ensure they're up-to-date. Therefore, please send a message from your e-mail account to info@acchos.org - simply put the word "subscribe" in the subject line, together with your full name.

|
If you are an existing member who does not have an e-mail account, please send a letter stating as much to our usual postal address (given near the end of all pages on this website). You will then be mailed a printed, abbreviated black and white version of the journal three times-per-year. This option will not be available to new members, i.e. those who join after July 2011.

|
The last paper edition of the magazine was issue 50. The first electronic edition, issue 51, was e-mailed on August 14th 2011.
