BOARDWALK PIPES / BACH ON THE BIGGEST
Organist: Robert Elmore
Price: $14.98 • BUY •

This CD brings together two albums recorded by Mercury in 1956, when the Hall's organs were fully operational. The original stereo tapes of these legendary recordings, unavailable for decades, have now been digitally transferred with 24-bit technology utilizing the High Definition Compatible Digital process – meaning that Elmore's all-Bach recital on the Midmer-Losh organ and lighter programme on the Kimball can be heard as never before. The accompanying booklet includes the Kimball's stop list and information about both organs, together with notes on Robert Elmore and the original recording sessions. TRACK LIST, BOARDWALK PIPES: Stars & Stripes [Sousa] • Liebesfreud [Kreisler] • Old Refrain [Kreisler] • Caprice Viennois [Kreisler] • Stars In My Eyes [Kreisler] • Fantasy on Nursery Themes [Elmore] • Eklog, op. 41 [Kramer] • The Squirrel [Weaver] • Marche Champκtre [Boex] • Trumpet Voluntary [Clarke]. TRACK LIST, BACH ON THE BIGGEST: Toccata & Fugue in D Minor • Wachet Auf! • In Dulci Jubilo • Toccata, Adagio & Fugue in C. Price: $14.98 • BUY •
THE AUDITORIUM ORGAN
Organists: Timothy Hoag and guests
Price: $14.98 • BUY •

This 1998 recording was made to demonstrate the organ's condition at that time. The occasional cipher is heard and some of the reeds are out of tune but, as the accompanying booklet says, this is a "warts and all" recording. TRACK LIST: Toccata in D minor BWV 565 [Bach] • On The Boardwalk (in Atlantic City) [Gordon] • There She Is, Miss America [Wayne] • Original Rag [Joplin] • Ol' Man River [Gershwin] • Marche Militaire [Gounod] • On The Road To Mandalay [Speaks] • Berceuse [Vierne] • Abide With Me (Eventide hymn tune) [Monk] • Psalm 100 [Bourgeois] • Ad Nos Ad Salutarem Undam (conclusion) [Liszt]. There are also tracks demonstrating the 64-foot stop, the 100-inch Grand Ophicleide and Tuba Imperial ranks, and three of the blowers starting-up! Price: $17.98 • BUY •
PHOENIX RENAISSANCE
